S
Corsair SF850 2024 SFX Platinum (S tier)
Corsair SF850 2024 SFX Platinum
The Corsair SF850 (2024) is the definitive SFX 850W unit — ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliant, 80+ Platinum rated, and includes an SFX-to-ATX bracket for flexibility. For small form factor builds, nothing at this wattage competes meaningfully; for full ATX cases, the SFX form factor is unnecessary and the price premium doesn't make sense.
Seasonic Focus GX 850W Platinum (S tier)
Seasonic Focus GX 850W Platinum
The Seasonic Focus GX 850W (updated ATX 3.1 version) brings Cybenetics Platinum efficiency, full ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, a 10-year warranty, and Seasonic's proven platform at a competitive price point. This is the best value S-tier pick in the ATX category — it doesn't sacrifice anything meaningful to hit its price.
A
SilverStone Extreme 850R Platinum SFX (A tier)
SilverStone Extreme 850R Platinum SFX
The SilverStone EX850R-PM is a Cybenetics Platinum-rated SFX unit with ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0 compliance — a strong choice for small form factor builds where full ATX won't fit. It loses the S tier only because SFX units carry a size-driven thermal compromise and the platform is less proven at scale than Seasonic's ATX offerings.
FSP Dagger Pro 850W SFX Gold (A tier)
FSP Dagger Pro 850W SFX Gold
The FSP Dagger Pro 850W is a strong SFX option with ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, a 10-year warranty, and full modular cabling at a competitive price for the SFX segment. It trails the Corsair SF850 slightly on platform prestige and efficiency certification depth, but it's a legitimate alternative for compact builds.
Corsair RM850x Shift Gold (A tier)
Corsair RM850x Shift Gold
The RM850x Shift's side-mounted modular interface is a genuinely useful cable management innovation for tight builds, and it pairs that with ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance and Corsair's reliable platform. It falls just short of S tier because the side interface can conflict with some case layouts, and efficiency is Gold rather than Platinum.
ASUS TUF Gaming 850W Gold (A tier)
ASUS TUF Gaming 850W Gold
The ASUS TUF Gaming 850W Gold hits ATX 3.0 compliance, military-grade components, a 10-year warranty, and fully modular cabling at a strong price point. It's one tier below S because it's ATX 3.0 rather than 3.1, and the platform doesn't quite match Seasonic's engineering depth.
Corsair RM850e 2025 Gold (A tier)
Corsair RM850e 2025 Gold
The Corsair RM850e (2025) brings ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, Cybenetics Gold efficiency, 105°C capacitors, and Modern Standby support at a very competitive price. It earns A rather than S because Cybenetics Gold (not Platinum) and the 'e' budget-line platform mean it's slightly behind the Seasonic Focus GX on raw engineering quality.
MSI MAG A850GL 850W Gold (A tier)
MSI MAG A850GL 850W Gold
The MSI MAG A850GL is one of the most popular 850W units on the market for good reason — ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, native dual-color 12V-2x6 cable, 10-year warranty, and a compact design at an accessible price. It misses S tier because the platform (CWT) is solid but not at Seasonic's level, and efficiency is Gold rather than Platinum.
MSI MPG A850GS 850W Gold (A tier)
MSI MPG A850GS 850W Gold
The MSI MPG A850GS steps up from the MAG line with server-grade capacitors, dual 12V-2x6 cables, and semi-digital control for tighter voltage regulation. It's a meaningful upgrade over the MAG for demanding builds, though it still uses Gold efficiency and the same CWT platform family.
be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W Gold (A tier)
be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W Gold
The be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W brings ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, LLC technology for tight voltage regulation, and be quiet!'s reputation for genuinely quiet operation — all at a very accessible price. It earns A rather than S because it's the entry-level be quiet! line, using a less premium platform than the Straight Power 12, and efficiency is Gold.
NZXT C850 Gold Core (A tier)
NZXT C850 Gold Core
The NZXT C850 Gold Core earns Cybenetics Platinum despite its Gold 80 Plus badge — a meaningful real-world efficiency advantage — and pairs it with ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, 105°C capacitors, and zero RPM mode at a competitive price. It's held from S tier by NZXT's less established PSU platform reputation and low review count.
Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V3 (A tier)
Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V3
The Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V3 is a meaningful upgrade over the V2 — ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliant, 90° connector orientation for cleaner routing, zero RPM mode, and a 10-year warranty at a very competitive price. It earns A rather than S because Cooler Master's platform is solid but not at Seasonic's engineering level, and efficiency is Gold.
Montech Century II 850W Gold (A tier)
Montech Century II 850W Gold
The Montech Century II 850W earns Cybenetics Platinum alongside its 80+ Gold badge, pairs it with ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance and a 10-year warranty, and does so at a price that undercuts most competitors. It's held from S tier by Montech's shorter track record compared to Seasonic and a smaller support infrastructure.
be quiet! Straight Power 12-850W Platinum (A tier)
be quiet! Straight Power 12-850W Platinum
The be quiet! Straight Power 12 850W is an 80+ Platinum unit with ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0 compliance, be quiet!'s premium silent 135mm fan, and a strong platform — but it's unavailable at retail ($0 price) and uses ATX 3.0 rather than the current 3.1 standard. When available, it's a top-tier choice; currently it can only be recommended as a used purchase.
B
ASUS ROG Strix 850W Gold (B tier)
ASUS ROG Strix 850W Gold
The ASUS ROG Strix 850W Gold is built on a solid platform with a 10-year warranty and dual ball bearing fan, but it predates ATX 3.0/3.1 and lacks a native 12V-2x6 connector. It's a reliable unit for older builds but hard to recommend for new builds pairing with current-gen GPUs.
ASUS Prime 850W Gold (B tier)
ASUS Prime 850W Gold
The ASUS Prime 850W Gold is a budget-friendly entry from ASUS with ATX 3.0 compliance and an 8-year warranty, but it uses a less premium platform than the TUF Gaming line and lacks Cybenetics certification. It's a reasonable pick for budget-conscious builders who don't need the latest spec.
Super Flower Leadex III 850W Gold (B tier)
Super Flower Leadex III 850W Gold
Super Flower makes the platforms inside many premium PSUs (including some EVGA units), so the Leadex III's engineering pedigree is legitimate — ATX 3.1, Cybenetics Gold, 10-year warranty, and FDB fan with copper shaft. It drops to B because the brand has minimal retail presence and very few reviews, making it harder to assess real-world reliability at scale.
Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 850W Gold (B tier)
Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 850W Gold
The Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 850W offers ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance, a 10-year warranty, and a true 450W 12V-2x6 connector — solid specs at a competitive price. It falls to B because Thermaltake's platform quality is inconsistent compared to Seasonic or Corsair, and the GF A3 line lacks Cybenetics certification.
Thermaltake GF1 850W Gold (B tier)
Thermaltake GF1 850W Gold
The Thermaltake GF1 850W is a popular, affordable fully modular Gold unit, but it lacks ATX 3.0/3.1 compliance and a native 12V-2x6 connector — a real limitation for RTX 40/50 or RX 9000 series GPU builds. Its high review count reflects value-driven purchases, not engineering excellence.
Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W Gold (B tier)
Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W Gold
The Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W updates the GF1's shortcomings with ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance and a native 450W PCIe 5.1 connector, but only carries a 5-year warranty — half what competitors offer at this price. That warranty gap is a meaningful signal of platform confidence.
EVGA 850 GT Gold (B tier)
EVGA 850 GT Gold
The EVGA 850 GT was one of the most popular 850W units ever sold — fully modular, 100% Japanese capacitors, 7-year warranty, compact 150mm size — but it's discontinued and unavailable at retail, and lacks modern connector standards. Its massive review count reflects historical sales, not current availability.
Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 850W Gold (B tier)
Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 850W Gold
The Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 850W is an ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0 compliant SFX unit with full modular cabling and 80+ Gold efficiency — a reasonable SFX option, but it's now unavailable at retail and outclassed by the Corsair SF850 (2024) and FSP Dagger Pro on current specs. Only relevant as a used purchase.
C
Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 ARGB 850W (C tier)
Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 ARGB 850W
The Thermaltake PF1 ARGB 850W is an older ATX 2.x platform without ATX 3.0/3.1 or PCIe 5.x compliance, making it a poor fit for modern GPU builds. The ARGB focus adds cost without functional benefit, and the platform is outclassed by newer units at similar or lower prices.
Razer Katana 850W Platinum (C tier)
Razer Katana 850W Platinum
The Razer Katana is a 80+ Platinum unit with a decent feature set, but it's built on an unverified OEM platform with no Cybenetics certification and a warranty that doesn't match competitors at this price. You're paying a brand premium for Razer's name rather than engineering superiority.
Corsair RMX 850W Gold (C tier)
Corsair RMX 850W Gold
The original RM850x is a well-regarded unit on an older platform, but it predates ATX 3.0/3.1 and PCIe 5.x standards entirely, making it a poor match for any modern GPU build. It's reliable and has a strong track record, but the platform age means you're buying yesterday's spec at today's prices.
Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 (C tier)
Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2
The Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 is a competent older unit with a solid reputation, but it predates ATX 3.0/3.1 and lacks a native 12V-2x6 connector, making it a poor fit for any modern GPU build. The V3 replaces it with current specs — there's little reason to choose the V2 in 2026.
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 Gold (C tier)
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 Gold
The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 was a benchmark unit in its era, built on a Super Flower platform with a 10-year warranty, but it's now discontinued, unavailable at retail, and lacks any modern GPU connector standards. Its historical reputation doesn't translate to a recommendation in 2026.
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 T2 Titanium (C tier)
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 T2 Titanium
The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 T2 was one of the few 80+ Titanium 850W units ever made, built on a Superflower platform with a 10-year warranty — genuinely impressive for its time. It's discontinued and unavailable at retail, and lacks modern connector standards, so it can only be recommended as a used purchase for legacy builds.
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GA Gold (C tier)
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GA Gold
The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GA was a well-regarded compact fully modular Gold unit, but it's discontinued, unavailable at retail, and lacks modern connector standards. Its compact 150mm depth was a genuine differentiator, but the Corsair SF850 and FSP Dagger Pro have since made it irrelevant.
Cooler Master V850 Gold V2 (C tier)
Cooler Master V850 Gold V2
The Cooler Master V850 Gold V2 is a solid fully modular Gold unit with 16AWG PCIe cables, but it predates ATX 3.0/3.1 and is now discontinued and unavailable at retail. The V3 replaces it with current specs.
D
Silverstone 850W Gold (D tier)
Silverstone 850W Gold
The SilverStone ST85F-GS V2 is an older 80+ Gold unit on an aging platform with no ATX 3.0/3.1 compliance and a 140mm fan design that doesn't compensate for its outdated internals. At this price, far better-equipped modern units are available.
ARESGAME AGK850 850W Gold (D tier)
ARESGAME AGK850 850W Gold
ARESGAME is an unverified brand with no known OEM platform, no Cybenetics certification, and no ATX 3.0/3.1 compliance — the review count reflects budget buyers, not quality validation. At 850W powering expensive hardware, this is not a unit you want to trust.
Segotep GM850 850W Gold (D tier)
Segotep GM850 850W Gold
Segotep is a budget brand with no verified OEM platform, no Cybenetics certification, and a history of inflated spec claims — the high review count reflects aggressive pricing, not reliability. The ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 claims on the listing are unverified and should be treated skeptically.
SAMA XP850W Platinum (D tier)
SAMA XP850W Platinum
SAMA is a Chinese budget brand with no established OEM platform verification, no Cybenetics certification, and minimal Western market presence — the Platinum claim is unverified. At 850W paired with high-end GPUs, an unvalidated PSU is a genuine risk to your entire system.
Golden Field Nexus 850W Gold (D tier)
Golden Field Nexus 850W Gold
GOLDEN FIELD is an unknown brand with no verified OEM platform, no Cybenetics certification, and no meaningful track record in Western markets — the Japanese capacitor claim is unverifiable. The specs look good on paper, but there's no independent validation to back them up.
darkFlash PMT 850W Gold (D tier)
darkFlash PMT 850W Gold
darkFlash is primarily a case and cooling brand with no established PSU platform — the ATX 3.1 and Japanese capacitor claims are unverified by any independent body. At 850W, buying from a brand with no PSU engineering heritage is a meaningful risk.
Corsair Professional AX 850W Gold (D tier)
Corsair Professional AX 850W Gold
The original Corsair AX850 is a historically respected unit, but it's over a decade old, unavailable at retail, and completely lacks modern connector standards. Do not buy this for any current build.
EVGA 850 GQ Gold (D tier)
EVGA 850 GQ Gold
The EVGA 850 GQ is a semi-modular Bronze-era unit that's now discontinued and unavailable — semi-modular design, no modern connector standards, and a 5-year warranty make it a poor choice even if you could find it. There is no scenario where this is the right pick in 2026.
F
EVGA 850 BQ Bronze (F tier)
EVGA 850 BQ Bronze
The EVGA 850 BQ is a semi-modular 80+ Bronze unit — the lowest acceptable efficiency tier — that's now discontinued and unavailable. Bronze efficiency at 850W means meaningfully higher heat and electricity waste, and the semi-modular design adds cable clutter. There is no reason to buy this in 2026.

The 850W PSU tier list was last updated . Some products may be missing or not added yet. We will try to include them in our next update.

850W PSU Criteria

S-tier 850W PSUs combine top-tier efficiency (80+ Gold minimum, with Platinum or better a genuine differentiator at this wattage), full ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 compliance with a native 12V-2x6 connector, fully modular cabling, Japanese 105°C capacitors, and a warranty of 10 years or more. They're built on proven platforms — typically from seasoned OEMs like Seasonic, Super Flower, or Channel Well — and pass independent Cybenetics testing rather than relying solely on 80 Plus lab conditions. At 850W, a unit also needs to handle transient spikes from modern GPUs without voltage sag, which separates well-engineered designs from ones that merely meet spec on paper.

Mid-tier units (B and C) typically use decent but not premium capacitors, may carry older ATX 2.x or ATX 3.0 standards instead of the current 3.1, and often come with shorter warranties (5–8 years) that signal less manufacturer confidence in long-term reliability. Some cut corners on fan quality or use semi-modular designs that leave non-removable cables cluttering your build. They'll power a system reliably under normal loads but may struggle with the transient demands of high-end GPUs or show higher ripple under stress testing.

D and F tier units share common red flags: unknown or unverified OEM platforms, no Cybenetics certification, vague or missing capacitor specs, warranties under 5 years, and in some cases, inflated wattage claims that don't hold up under load. A PSU failure can take other components with it, so a cheap unit that saves money upfront is a false economy — especially at 850W where you're likely pairing it with expensive hardware. Units with $0 listed prices are discontinued or unavailable and can't be meaningfully recommended regardless of their historical reputation.
